From Violin Lessons to Opera Fame: Domingo Hindoyan’s Journey.
Domingo Hindoyan, a famous conductor from Venezuela, has been named the next Music Director of the Los Angeles Opera. He will officially start in the 2026–27 season, but he already made a great impression during his debut with the company in November 2024. Critics loved his performance of the opera *Roméo et Juliette*, saying it was full of emotion, rhythm, and bold choices.

His musical education started with “El Sistema,” a special music program in Venezuela that helps young musicians.
Deed Fraud Case Puts Latino Family at Risk of Losing Home.
Families in East Hampton, New York, are fighting to keep their homes after they say they were tricked in a fake home sale. The New York Attorney General’s Office has asked a judge to pause the family’s eviction while they look into the case. The family says they were victims of deed fraud, which means someone gave them a fake document that looked like they owned the house, but they really didn’t.
One family, led by Juan Amon, thought they had bought the house in 2020. They paid over $300,000 as a down payment on an $800,000 home from a man named Michael O’Sullivan. Amon said this house was their dream and a symbol of their hard work in America.
Copenhagen Named Happiest City in the World.
In May 2025, a group called the Institute for the Quality of Life shared its new list of the happiest cities in the world. This list is called the Happy City Index. It looks at 200 cities and gives them a ranking based on how happy the people are and how well the city is run. The cities are sorted into gold, silver, and bronze groups. Gold cities scored the best overall.
The study looks at six big things: how people live, how the government works, the environment, the economy, health, and transportation. Health was added as a new category this year because of what the world learned during the covid-19 pandemic.
Is the $25 Breakfast Here to Stay?
Breakfast restaurants in the United States are having a hard time because of rising food prices. Items like eggs, bacon, coffee, orange juice, and flour are all much more expensive than they were a few years ago. These price increases are making it difficult for diners, cafes, and bakeries to make a profit.
At a Cafe in Philadelphia, the co-owner says that 90% of their menu includes eggs. When egg prices jumped to $8 per dozen, it hurt the business a lot. A simple plate of eggs, bacon, toast, and coffee used to cost about $3 or $4 to make, but now the cost has doubled. He says they are trying not to raise prices too much because nobody wants to pay $25 for breakfast.
